Meet Rodin: A Blend of Precision and Creativity
Rodin appreciates the company’s small-scale nature, with huge impact, and its unique products. For him, working at AviationGlass is about continuous improvement and making an impact.
As a Quality Engineer, he embodies the ideal combination of precision and innovation, both professionally and personally. With half a year at AviationGlass, he plays a key role in refining production processes and enhancing the quality of aviation glass products. His meticulous attention to detail and commitment to identifying and addressing even minor issues uphold AviationGlass’s high standards.
His approach to quality engineering centers on continuous improvement. “My work is about gaining more control over our processes, which ultimately lifts the quality of our products to a higher level,” he explains. Focusing on recurring errors in production, he thrives on the challenge of working with products that demand absolute precision, where even minor deviations can lead to rejection. “The biggest challenge is that our products are rejected for even the smallest deviations. Finding the causes of these deviations is a major task.”
Craftsmanship doesn’t stop in the workplace. As a hobbyist woodworker, he admits that if he could stockpile anything for life, it would be oak wood. This passion for working with his hands translates directly to his work at AviationGlass. “Craftsmanship is all about detail, whether it’s in woodworking or ensuring our glass meets aviation standards.”
When it comes to relaxing, Rodin finds balance by staying active. CrossFit, woodworking, and exploring the mountains—whether snowboarding in winter or motorcycling in the summer—keep him grounded. His love for the mountains reflects his broader outlook on life and work: “Being in nature and tackling the challenges of the terrain gives me perspective and recharges my energy for the precision-driven work we do at AviationGlass.”
The Future of Quality Engineering: Big Data
Rodin sees exciting developments ahead in his field, particularly with the growing use of Big Data in quality management. “More and more can be extracted from data. We’re trying to use it to link different rejection reasons to specific production variables. The goal is always to improve.”
AviationGlass offers him the perfect environment to combine his passion for innovation with craftsmanship. He values the team, the nature of the company, and the unique, high-quality products it produces. “What I like about this company is the scale and the uniqueness of what we produce,” he says. “There’s always room for improvement, and it’s rewarding to know that I’m making a difference.”
With a drive to push boundaries and a love for creating high-quality, precise products, Rodin is a testament to the spirit of innovation at AviationGlass. As the aviation industry continues to evolve, its expertise and dedication to process improvement will undoubtedly contribute to the company’s success.
